The Organisation
Group Functions are the central core of non-technical expertise behind the smooth day-to-day running of BG Group’s business. This area comprises professionals in Finance, Human Resources, Investor Relations, Legal, Policy & Corporate Affairs, Secretariat and Strategy & Portfolio Development. Together they provide strategic direction and support to our Group Executive Committee, Business area managers, and Asset Management teams, helping to underpin our frontline business activities.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Executive Recruitment Manager – the jobholder will be responsible for Group headcount planning across 26 countries in a function led, matrix managed environment.

The individual will also look after the reporting and analysis of substantial amounts of HR Data that form the basis of our Management Information (or MI) provided to senior HR Managers. Hence this individual will have a high degree of visibility within the Group HR function. We also share this information with specialist functions, such as Finance, as well as the wider business community, so this individual will be expected to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders.

As we are currently moving this reporting from Cognos to SAP BPC this is not business as usual – this individual will play an exciting and pivotal role in shaping the future whilst being in at the early stages of the project.
Key Accountabilities
 • The role is responsible for the development and analysis of data, systems and processes which underpin the headcount resource planning across BG Group.
• Collate, produce and distribute monthly global headcount report.
• To perform reporting and analysis of HR data.
• To improve the quality of data in HR systems (SAP) through increasing the visibility of HR data. The role acts as the central reporting point of contact for queries related to headcount, data and reporting.
• To provide reporting support to Global HR Community and liaise with them to plan, co-ordinate and troubleshoot the planning process.
• Provide monthly headcount figures to Finance.
• Liaise with stakeholders in both Finance and HR to identify discrepancies in the headcount data and produce reporting packs.
• Liaise with external provider regarding the updating and maintenance of headcount and data integrity dashboards.
• Providing training on the use of dashboards to encourage more widespread usage.
• Data analysis for Annual Reports & Accounts and for the Corporate Responsibility Reports.
• Provide complex data analysis for global HR user community and provide training where necessary for BI reporting.
• Monitoring SAP data to improve data integrity and assist in system testing for BI changes for HR data.
• The job holder is expected to use their initiative and understanding of the system and process to influence time planning, organization and prioritization by identifying and highlighting issues early.
• Works with finance contacts to ensure consistency between COGNOS and HR systems and produce reports for Exec analysis.
• Works with HR systems team and IT & Technology teams to coordinate any necessary system changes/improvements.
• First point of contact for Senior HR managers, Regional HR Managers, Parent managers and global HR colleagues for HR data requests, queries and support.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
• Highly developed analytical skills – able to “see through” the data.
• Advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Working knowledge of Cognos and SAP would be ideal – but is not essential.
• It would be advantageous to have experience of working within an IT, HR, or Finance environment – ideally working with HR data.
• First rate communication skills, both oral and written.
• Highly emotionally intelligent.

• Confident of own analytical ability.
• Team player.
• Strategic, yet structured thinker.
• Open minded – focuses on solutions, not obstacles.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
