The strategy and corporate Development Department at FirstBank is seeking a few exceptional candidates to fill present vacancies. Strategy & Corporate Development works closely with executive management on setting aspirations and the overall strategic direction for the FirstBank Group. This includes identifying and executing strategic development opportunities, monitoring subsidiary performance and enhancing synergy capture, and arming decision –makers with critical information and insights.

HEAD, RESEARCH (Job Ref. #: SCD002)
JOB PROFILE
The research unit is responsible for providing strategic recommendations by generating fundamental research and analysis of companies, industries, markets and economies. The head of research will report directly to the Chief Strategy Officer and will have strategic and operational responsibility for a team of experienced research analysis.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform market research and assist in the development of competitive and business intelligence research and analysis;
Formulate industry forecasts and provide opinions on industry trends;
Lead, manage and grow a team of research talent and a series of research projects;
Minimum Experience / Qualifications
Solid understanding of the Nigerian financial series sector, macro economy and capital markets;
Proven ability to manage a portfolio of projects, exceptional analytical capabilities and research skills;
Excellent writing and communication skills, along with the ability to interpret research findings so that the audience  benefits from actionable insights;
Minimum 2:2 undergraduate degree and at least 7 years of relevant post-graduate work experience;Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated research leadership experience in financial services.

STRATEGY & COOPERATE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE (Job Ref. #: SCD003)

JOB PROFILE
The successful candidate will work as integral member of the team and assist in the development of the Bank’s corporate strategy or in the identification and realization of new growth opportunities.  He / She will work with business unit heads to analyze opportunities / challenges ,  recommend solutions and craft execution plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, corporate prioritization, and strategy communication.
Drive business planning and analysis with respect to the expansion of the Group into new business lines and geographies; analyze industry trends, Analyze industry trends, competitive threats, expansion opportunities and internal performance
•    Work and lead in a team environment both within the strategy & corporate team and with business unit partners/customers

Minimum Experience / Qualifications:
•    Strong  quantitative skills, comfort with figures and ability to read and understand financial statements (particularly banks);
•    Good writing and verbal communication skills, and ability to present ideas in a coherent and well-structured manner;
•    Ability to work largely independently with limited supervision when coupled with the flexibility to work as part of a team
•    Minimum 2.2 undergraduate degree with at least 5 years post-graduate work experience in banking or a related industry
•    Previous experience in corporate finance and/or corporate strategy is an advantage is an advantage

STRATEGY & CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT ANALYST (JOB REF. #:SCD004)

JOB PROFILE
The successful candidate will support Associates and unit heads in performing financial and strategic analyses of various business opportunities and initiatives, primarily for the benefits of executive management. He or She will be a hardworker, with a desire to learn and ability to pick up new concepts quickly.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Conducting financial and market analysis and services sector and other non-banking financial services industries in which the bank competes;
*Highly motivated individual with creative problem solving and eagerness to learn in instance where technical and understanding may be lacking;
*Good writing and verbal communication skills, and ability to present ideas in a coherent and well-structured manner:
*Sound research and analytical skills;
*Minimum 2.2 undergraduate degree with at least 3 years post-graduate work experience in banking or related industry.
