Job description :
Senior geophysicists with a strong geological background for performing seismic data interpretation and their integration into a geological framework.
Worldwide opportunities are offered in operational subsidiaries of the Group.
* Your main responsibilities include:
-Conducting 2D/3D seismic data interpretations on various commercial and/or proprietary software systems, by:
Integrating geologic, well and geophysical data
Mastering workflows:
- Calibrations
- Geometries and attributes interpretation
- Depth conversion and mapping.
- Geomodelling.
-Participating as a contributive team member in:
Technical evaluations of new opportunities (Government rounds, farm-ins…)
Prospect generation on TOTAL’s acreage.
Field appraisal and development studies.
- Presenting and defending you interpretations (peers reviews, management, partners…)
- Reporting and data management
- Mentoring junior interpreters.
* Required technical skills cover a wide range of geoscience knowledge:
Basics of interpretation:
- Fluent on major interpretation platforms.
- Deep understanding and practice of geometrical interpretation and of seismic stratigraphy,
- Practice of reservoir characterization techniques (Attributes, AVO, inversion…)
Geology:
- Geological understanding and practice beyond academic knowledge is required:
- Skills in structural geology / Implementation on seismic data.
- Skills in sedimentology - sequence stratigraphy / Implementation on seismic data.
- Knowledge of basins architecture / Basin scale interpretation.
Geophysics:
- State of the art knowledge of data acquisition and processing techniques, including depth imaging, is required.
Reservoir:
- Some insights in reservoir models building requirements would certainly facilitate teamwork with reservoir engineers.
Required skills :
Education :
-Graduate engineer, master’s degree, or five years post-secondary education, or french "Ecoles d'Ingenieur".
Candidates should master French and/or English as working languages of the TOTAL Group.
Experience :
At least 5 years experience.
