The National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and its activity centers are currently expanding their technical strength to meet the 21st century’s challenges in space applications, scientific discovery and aeronautics research. Consequently, the following technical positions are

1. Engineering and Space Systems
Position:
a. Chief Engineer
b. Assistant Chief Engineer
c. Principal Engineer

Specialization:
-Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical
Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Chemical
Engineering.
Qualification:
-Applicants for the position of Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer and
Principal Engineer must possess:
(i) Ph.D. from a recognised University in any of the following disciplines:
Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical
Engineering, Aerospace Engineering.
(ii) Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering from a recognised
University with a first class or second class upper division.
(iii) A minimum of 10 years cognate working experience.
-Applicants for the position of Engineer must possess:
(i) Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree from a recognised University in any of
the following disciplines Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering.
(ii) Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering from a recognised

University with a first class or second class upper division.
(iii) A minimum of 3 years cognate working experience.
-Applicants for the position of Technologist must possess:
(i) Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognised institution in any of the
following fields: Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering,
Aerospace Engineering and must pass at the distinction level or upper credit.
(ii) Shouldering Certification from European Space Agency.
(iii) A minimum of 5 years cognate working experience in a related reputable
organization.
2. Space Applications and Remote Sensing
Specializations and Positions:
2.1 Atmospheric Science: Assistant Director
2.2 Agricultural Science: Assistant Chief Scientific Officers, Principal
Scientific Officers and Scientific Officers
2.3 Applied Metrology: Assistant Chief Scientific Officers
2.4 Environmental Science: Assistant Chief Scientific Officers, Principal
Scientific Officers and Scientific Officers
2.5 Geodesy: Assistant Chief Scientific Officer
2.6 Climatology: Chief Scientific Officer
Requirements:
2.1 Applicants must possess Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from a recognised
University with a minimum of 15 years cognate working experience.
2.2 Applicants for Assistant Chief Scientific Officer must possess Ph.D. in
Agricultural Science from a recognised University with a minimum of 10
years cognate working experience. Applicants for Principal Scientific
Officer must possess Ph.D. in Agricultural Science from a recognised
University with a minimum of 8 years cognate working experience.
Applicants for Scientific Officer must possess a Master’s of Science
(M.Sc.) Degree in Agricultural Science from a recognised University with
a minimum of 3 years cognate working experience.
2.3 Applicants must possess Ph.D. in Applied Metrology from a recognised
University with a minimum of 10 years cognate working experience.
2.4 Applicants for Chief Scientific Officer must possess Ph.D. in
Environmental Science from a recognised University with a minimum of

12 years cognate working experience. Applicants for Principal Scientific
Officer must possess Ph.D. in Environmental Science from a recognised
University with a minimum of 8 years cognate working experience.
Applicants for Scientific Officers must possess a Master’s of Science
(M.Sc.) Degree in Environmental Science from a recognised University
with a minimum of 3 years cognate working experience.
2.5 Applicants must possess Ph.D. in Geodesy from a recognised
University with a minimum of 10 years cognate working experience.
2.6 Applicants must possess Ph.D. in Climatology (with emphasis in Climate
Change modeling) from a recognised University with a minimum of 10
years cognate working experience.
Additional Requirements:
Applicants must possess:
(i) Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in the sciences from a recognised
University with first class or second class upper division.
(ii) Proficiency in Remote Sensing and Digital Image processing, Geographic
Information Systems (GIS), Surveying, and Geoinformatics.
3. Information and Computer Technology
Positions:
a) Asst. Chief Scientific Officer
b) Principal Scientific Officer
c) Senior Scientific Officer
Specialization
Computer Programmer/Software Developer, with experience in System
Design and Development, and Geospatial Data Infrastructure.
Skills required
Proficiency in a combination of any of the following programming languages
platforms/software packages:

ASP/ASP.NET, VB.NET, PHP, C#, C++, xml, Java, Perl, JSP, Oracle, SQL
Server, MySQL, Linux, Unix, IT Networking and Enterprise GIS Development
& Management.
Qualification
Applicants for the post of Assistant Chief Scientific Officer must possess:
i. PhD. from a recognised University in Computer Science,
Geoinformation Management Science or related field.
ii. BSc (Hons) Degree in Computer Science/Geoinformation
Management Science related field with a first class or second
class upper division.
iii. Professional Certifications & Membership will be a plus.
iv. Proficiency in Remote Sensing and Digital Image Processing is a
plus.
v. A minimum of 10 years cognate working experience
Applicants for the post of Principal Scientific Officer must possess:
i. PhD./MSc from a recognised University in Computer Science,
Geoinformation Management Science or related field.
ii. BSc (Hons) Degree in Computer Science/Geoinformation
Management Science related field with a first class or second
class upper division.
iii. Professional Certifications & Membership will be a plus.
iv. Proficiency in Remote Sensing and Digital Image Processing is a
plus.
v. A minimum of 8 years (with PhD) or 10 years (with MSc) cognate
working experience.
Applicants for the post of Senior Scientific Officer must possess:
i. MSc from a recognised University in Computer Science,
Geoinformation Management Science or related field.

4 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
