Editor National Mirror (INSTAFF/01/09)
Requirements:
The candidate must possess leadership qualities that are necessary in producing a first rate newspaper He must be an ideas person with drive who should be able to make the paper the first choice of readers. He should generate story ideas. The ideal candidate must have sources that he can always tap into. He should also be able to identify and cultivate new sources. Must be capable of supervising and providing leadership to the editorial staff under him. The successful candidate must have strong knowledge of newspaper production process and should be able to coordinate editorial operations.
Qualifications:
* The candidate must have BA/BSC degree in related field, with not less than 15 years relevant work experience
* Candidate must possess strong writing and organisational skills.
* The candidate must be computer literate
All candidates must have the prerequisite qualifications and experience to qualify, and all must be ready to work in any part of the country.

(1) Candidates are advised to apply in the location of National Mirror in the six geographical coverage of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as stated below. This means that you will mark at the top left hand comer of your application the area where you intend to work. If your application is successful, you will he posted to the zone where you have stated in your application or the nearest zone.

The National Mirror Newspapers will be publishing in six locations, simultaneously as follows;
Zone A: Lagos Area;
This area covers Lagos, Oyo, Osun and Ogun states.
Zone B: Akure Area
This area covers Ondo, Edo, Delta, Kwara and Ekiti states.
Zone C: Abuja Zone:
This area covers Abuja FCT, Benue, Plateau, Nassarawa, Kaduna, Niger and Kogi states.
Zone D: Owerri Area;
This area covers Imo, Abia, Enugu, Anambra, Rivers, Cross Rivers, Akwa-Ibom and Balyesa states.
Zone E: Kano Area;
This area covers Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Sokoto and Kebbi state.
Zone F: Maiduguri Area:
This area covers Borno, Yobe, Taraba, Gombe, Jigawa, Bauchi and Adamawa states.
Example:
To work in Owerri zone, you must currently reside in any of the states under Owerri
It will be of no benefit for you to currently reside in Imo and wish to work in Akure. We already have a zonal arrangement and we intend to make life easy for you.
Exemption;
The only exemption to the rule above is when you intend to work at the Headquarters located in Lagos. In such situation; all you need to do is to mark at the top left corner of your application for the attention of Headquarters i.e. H/Q.
Compulsory:
All candidates must comply with the followings:
(a) Submission of a detailed handwritten application with resume including photocopies of credentials and two passport photographs.
(b) Compulsory reading of the book titled: LOYALTY RULES by Frederick Reichheld
(c) Only candidates that pass examination based on the understanding of the book will be employed.
Special Considerations;
(a) All former staff of National Mirror Newspapers who intend to return should please apply as appropriate for any desired position and such application should be marked in red ink with Ref: RESTAFF/01/09
(b) Former staff of Mirror must also comply with the reading of the book and pass appropriate examination in other to regain their job.
