Position Summary This role is Business Information and Intelligence (BI&I) Programme Manager, sitting within the Business Information Group of the Global IT&T function. The BI Programme Manager will oversee a wide range of complex programmes leading to effective business BI&I provision and change throughout the Global organisation. This role leads the processes and resources required to deliver two key approval phases of project design and delivery. As a strategic role, the BI&I Programme Manager must operate at a high level with global organisational stakeholders and ensure that appropriate programme / project management disciplines and governance are adhered to. The BI&I Programme Manager will understand the business need, set against existing or required solution provision. This role is required to engage business customers in Value Assurance Framework process and ensure full business engagement through achieving sign off at Partnership Board level This role must ensure the business partner is geared for success through effective change management, to ensure benefits realisation is achieved. | |
Key Accountabilities Primary accountabilities of this role are: • Accountable for the delivery of complex BI&I programmes, through robust programme / project management • Create processes to monitor customer needs, accurately track project progress and take ownership of issue resolution • Ensures full engagement with BI Business Engagement Manager and BI Solution Service and Development Manager (peers) to deliver two key project approval and delivery phases • Create and deliver effective processes in support of programme and project management boards • Ensures the delivery of effective resource, financial and risk management • Create and lead a BI&I forum to oversee project creation / release; internal BI prioritisation; quality control; employ business stakeholder engagement where resource conflicts and re-prioritisation needs become apparent • High level, strategic stakeholder relationship management with all client areas and internal IT&T partners | |
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute Candidates should have the following experience: • Long term deployment in an information / programme management role • Significant period in a high level consulting role • Demonstrable use of recognised project delivery methodology • Delivery of large scale complex projects through effective governance process • Track record of operating in matrix management environments and delivering multiple projects to a range of diverse customers • Demonstrable people management capability in multi-functional teams to encompass matrix management of permanent staff, contract employee management, resource planning, capability development and management of third party people resource suppliers • Proven ability to integrate people, technology and expertise development • Demonstrates high level of knowledge in Solution design and Service development to achieve tangible business outcomes and integrate fully with broader IT&T dimensions • Proven leadership of corporate, cross-functional strategic projects • Proven contribution to multi-disciplinary change initiatives Education: • Degree / post-graduate degree on any information related discipline (or equivalent experience) • Project Management accreditation Global IT&T specific competencies required: Programme Management • Define, develop and implement integrated planning and delivery methods • Establish standards and procedures for planning and managing large, complex programmes, including integrated schedule, dependencymanagement, reporting and decision making Project Management • Identify critical success factors for projects and ensure they are implemented • Define and develop new project management methods and tools, such as Value Assurance Framework, estimating models and integratedreporting Change Implementation, Planning & Management • Define and implement appropriate change processes and procedures • Work closely with the business to identify change impacts resulting from technology implementation • Build change actions around business processes into technology implementation plans • Monitor, with the business implementation of change actions to ensure success of technology implementations and achievement of benefits Benefits Management • Develop executive level support ( business and technology) for expected outcomes from technology implementations • Establish appropriate governance structures to ensure appropriate tracking and management of benefits delivery Financial Management • Design and implement improvements to IT forecasting/budgeting/financial reporting processes • Evaluate financial impacts of IT strategic decisions / programmes • Design and implement cost and charging models used to enable the charging of IT resources and services Supplier Relationship Management • Possess thorough understanding of standard contract procedures and the business/commercial context • Lead the alignment between the strategy for sourcing and the IT and business strategies Programme and Project Support Office • Define IT programme and project management methodology consistent with VAF • Integrate IT programme and project management methodology with solution development methodology • Develop new and emerging tools and processes to support integrated programme and project management • Oversee the day to day management of function of project office process and programme system suite Candidates should also have the following skills and attributes:• Good problem-solving and analytical skills, able to determine the approximate impact of each issue quickly to prioritise further work • Strong influencing skills and ability to positively and sensitively work with stakeholders • Relationship Management skills, ability to build and create a strong internal network across levels and disciplines in BG • Sound decision-making skills • Strong People Management skills • Excellent performance management skills with the ability to coach direct reports to develop their capabilities. • Effective delegation skills • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) • Highly effective planning and prioritisation skills • Able to contribute to strategic debates, helping to identify and address future opportunities and challenges • Drive and enthusiasm • Ensure HSSE for area of responsibility is managed effectively per the BG policies and standards • International travel will (very occasionally) be required | |
