Swift Worldwide Resources :Senior Contracts Engineer

Our client requires a Senior Contracts Engineer for a residential position based in Lagos, Nigeria to start ASAP. This is being offered on a 1 year renewable contract.
Scope of Service: 
* Prepare documentation for and undertake pre-qualification exercises to determine supplier tender lists
* Prepare Call for Tender (CFT) documentation and contract documentation (Agreements, Contract Exhibits) ensuring that these comply with company and other relevant procedures.
* Participate directly in the negotiation of Contacts / Purchase Orders with Tenders, providing support to Package Managers and Technical staff during Technical discussion and participating directly with the Package Manager in the commercial/contractual negotiations.
* Maintain a tracking of the development of each Contact / Purchase Order from pre-qualification through CFT, approvals and award.
* Ensure that the tender processes are in compliance with Project procedures and particularly the relevant rules involved in Tendering for contracts in Nigeria.
* Liaise with financial, legal and insurance specialists to obtain advice and inputs into CFT document preparation and Contact / Purchase Order negations.
* Prepare in consultation with the Package Manager technical evaluation, commercial evaluation and Recommendation to Award dossiers / reports.
* Provide advice to the Company representative on contractual issues, and prepare / validate all contractual correspondence
* Analyse requests for change orders, and prepare / validate change order documents where appropriate
* Prepare the certificates to be issued to Contractor by Company in accordance with the contract
* Coordinate the processing of Contractor's monthly applications for payment, and verifying invoice submissions
* Establish and maintain a contract database which tracks existence and the evolution of contracts, change orders, certificates and the like
* Liaise with financial, legal and insurance specialists to gain input into issues raised during the contract as necessary

Essential service provider qualifications / experience: 

* A MINIMUM of 8 -10 years of contracts experience (BOTH pre and post contract award) within the Oil & Gas or other directly relevant sector
* Previous experience in the preparation/negotiation/administration of EPSC/EPIC Projects in an Operator or Lead Contractor environment is essential
* English fluent (written and spoken)
